The Villa

Villa Blanca is a 1909 manor in the hills above the sea, still owned by the family that built it. We've taken the whole place — house, gardens and all — for four days.

Everyone stays in the same house. Every meal is on the same terrace. Nobody has to drive anywhere for four days.

It sits above Sant Vicenç de Montalt, on the coast north of the city and about 45 min from Barcelona, with the Mediterranean in view from the garden and the beach a five-minute walk down the hill.

The House

Built in 1909 and still owned by the same family, the villa is belle époque all the way through — wood-panelled rooms, arched windows, a ceiling-high library, and a Steinway from the year the house went up. Thirteen bedrooms sleep the whole group under one roof.

The Gardens

Five hectares of them, laid out by the French landscape architect Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier — the same hand behind the gardens on Montjuïc. Hundred-year-old pines and palms, clipped box hedges, ponds, and a long view down to the Mediterranean.

Outside

The pool is 17 by 7 metres with lawn on every side, and there's a shaded chill-out lounge a few steps from the house for when you've had enough sun. A tennis court, ping pong under the veranda, a basketball hoop and a small gym are all on the property. The beach is a five-minute walk down the hill.

Where We'll Eat

Meals happen outside whenever the weather allows, which in June is always. There's a long table under the pergola in the garden, and a colonnaded veranda along the side of the house that seats the whole group at one table.

What’s on the Property

All of it is ours for the weekend, and all of it is included — your room from Thursday to Sunday is on us, and so is everything below.

Room assignments come later — some rooms face the sea, some the garden, and a couple share a bathroom. We’ll sort it out and let you know well before you fly.
